Also, congratulations to all of the Chiddix academic award winners honored last night in the gymnasium. We are very proud of your hard work and determination to exemplify what it means to be a Charger! Congratulations, again.

Attention move fans! Join German club for their final meeting after school on Thursday, May 28th! We’ll be having pizza and a movie in room 310. So far only a few students have taken advantage of the opportunity to enter the Fuel Up To Play drawing to win an Apple iPod. Time is running out for your chance at winning! To receive a raffle entry form you must first take the survey at www.surveymonkey.com/FuelUpToPlaySurvey and then print the entry form when you finish the survey. Put your entry form in the basket in Mrs. Corbitt’s office. This announcement concerns any tennis player out there that plays competitively and/or plans on going out for the team at Normal Community some day. E-mail Mr. Boswell at Chiddix Jr. High (found on the CJHS web site) and he will send you information concerning summer tennis opportunities in the Twin Cities. These programs are essential activities if you plan on playing high school tennis at NCHS some day. In the e-mail please include: name, grade, and school.

Attention all those 8th Graders going on the Washington D.C. trip. The trip begins this Friday. All those going on the trip need to have his or her parent call the office and get excused at 1:00 this Friday. You will not be able to leave until you are excused in the office. Also, you will not be able to leave until Mr. Porter has your Medical Release Form. If you need an extra copy of the Medical Release Form or have other questions about the trip, please see Mr. Porter.

ATTENTION INCOMING 6TH GRADE PARENTS

Due to a change in the curriculum for incoming 6th grade students for the 2009 – 2010 school year, the 6th grade music fee was left off of the student registration receipt. Please add this $10.00 music fee on to your total when returning your mail in registration. This applies to all incoming 6th grade students. Congratulations to Emilee Gibson, Austin Jones, Cayla Cardamone, and Claire Coppersmith. These 4 Chiddix students will be laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington D.C. this Sunday. This exact same ceremony will be repeated by President Obama the next day. Chiddix is very proud of Emilee, Austin, Cayla, and Claire. These 4 students should see Mr. Porter as soon as they can.

Congratulations to the Chiddix Track and Field team who competed in sectionals this past Saturday. Chiddix qualified nineteen athletes in twelve events for the state meet this week in East Peoria! The 8th grade girls and 7th grade boy’s teams placed second out of fourteen teams at sectionals! Congratulations on a fantastic season and good luck to all of the state-bound athletes!
