All “Let’s Talk” Club members who could not attend the meeting on November 2nd must stop and see Mrs. Brown in room 207 to get their debate topics for the next meeting. The next Let’s Talk meeting will be on Monday November 9th from 3:15 to 5:15. We will be finishing up speeches and conducting our debates. You must have your debate topic prepared.

The next Books and Bites will be held on Wednesday, November 11th. Reserve your spot by signing up in the IMC this week, and remember, as always, the pop is free.

Now is the time to sign up in the band room for Jazz Band auditions! Saxophone auditions are next Tuesday; trumpets and trombones are Wednesday, and the rhythm section goes on Thursday. There are audition times available before and after school. See Mr. Masterman or Mr. Swallow if you have any questions. Good Luck!!

Today is our PBIS 1st Quarter Rewards Day! Congratulations to students who have not had a major office referral or “F” in any class during the 1st grading period. Right before lunch today, you will be receiving a “ticket” which entitles you to a treat at lunch. Right after you go through the lunch line, stop by the concession area with your ticket to receive your reward.

Buenos dias, Chargers! The time has come! Join Senora White for the 1st meeting of Spanish Club this Thursday the 29th in room 308, after school until 4:00 p.m. Create your very own hot sauce bottle and vote for our club t-shirt design. Oh, and did I mention that comida will be served? Spanish Club is open to any Chiddix student interested in learning more about Spanish culture and traditions. Please bring $1.00 to contribute to the Spanish Club fund. Hope to see you there!

It’s Red Ribbon Week, Chargers, a week to celebrate choosing a drug-free lifestyle. Thus week Charger Council is sponsoring a number of activities to help celebrate Red Ribbon Week.
• In PE, you’ll be able to DODGE DRUGS while playing dodgeball and KNOCK-OUT DRUG ABUSE playing knock-out. This will be instead of fitness day. Thanks to the PE teachers for their support.
• Show your commitment to being drug-free by purchasing Red Ribbon Week beads. Beads are on sale in the lobby in the morning and at the concession stand at lunch. Cost is 25 cents each or five for one dollar. And for every dollar you spend, you get a chance to win some BIG RED GUM at the end of the week.
• Speaking of Big Red Gum, be looking for a big red surprise from the Council later in the week.
